DD Porter has commence works on a project with HCA to build two new Catheter Labs and associated Recovery, Change, Staff and Tech Rooms. The project will be constructed with a Grade 2 listed building whilst all other areas of the clinic remain live.
One of the challenges that the team will embrace is the removal of the existing rooftop plant and replacement with a new eight meter long air handling unit and louvred screens. The challenge is that the plant area is 5 storeys high and land locked by busy London streets. The solution is a road closure and a 150 tonne crane together with a high level of co-ordination by DD Porter and our subcontractors.
The internal works consist of removal of all internal finishes and some walls, followed by the construction of the proposed layout as above. All required finishes, radiation protection, mechanical, electrical and structural requirements for the installation of two Siemens Artis Icono’s.
The works are programmed to be complete in March 2025.
