Peter is our Managing Director and has over 35 years of experience in the industry.
He started his career with a local national contractor as a Technical Trainee gaining experience in all aspects of the business whilst also attending college.
From here, he progressed through the pre-construction and estimating ranks to reach the position of Regional Bid Manager for the UK’s largest private construction company.
Peter joined DD Porter in 2004 as an Estimating Manager to help develop the business further through sustainable targeted growth over the years ahead.
He was made a Director of the business in 2010 and Managing Director in 2018.
“Here at DD Porter, we aim to offer all our clients a first-class service. This is only possible because of the knowledge, hard work and commitment of all our team.”
“The fact that the majority of our business is repeat business with existing clients is testimony to this.”
Outside of work, Peter is a keen follower of most sports and enjoys walking his dog and spending time in his garden.
Andy is our Pre-Construction Director. His journey into the industry started out at Leicester University where he delved into the intricacies of Construction Economics and Management. From there, he spent many years working up and down the country as a Quantity Surveyor. After a long stint working for ISG, Andy brought his expertise to DD Porter, where his ability and potential quickly shone through. After moving departments in 2019, he became the pre-construction director in 2022.
Instrumental in helping us deliver viable projects on time and to specification, Andy relishes working closely with our clients and delivering a great end product.
“One of the great things about DD Porter is we’re big enough to deliver large projects but small enough to offer that personal service. Our clients can speak to a director when they need to and we have the size and strength needed to realise their vision exactly as they need.”
When he’s not working, Andy is a fan of all things mechanical, be it cars, motorsports or mountain biking. A true lycra devotee, you’ll find him biking into the office on his road bike come rain or shine.
Nick is our Construction Director and has decades of experience in the industry. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, he is the driving force behind all our onsite delivery.
He started his career as a trainee buyer before moving into quantity surveying. Over his long career, he’s held a number of senior positions at companies such as Keepmoat, Southdale, and Forest, where he was responsible for managing large-scale refurbishment and new build projects.
Nick joined DD Porter in 2018 as Construction Manager and was promoted to Construction Director in 2021. He’s passionate about delivering projects that exceed client expectations and is committed to providing his team with the resources and support they need to succeed.
“For me, the DD Porter brand is synonymous with stability and satisfaction. Stability because we’ve been operating successfully for over 60 years and satisfaction because we’re known for exceeding our client’s expectations. That’s why so much of our work is repeat business with clients we’ve worked with for years.”
In his spare time, Nick enjoys walking his dogs, watching cricket, and travelling, especially to Southeast Asia with his wife and family. He is also a keen supporter of the Halifax Panthers rugby league team.
Darren is our Surveying Director. With 30 years of experience under his belt, Darren has been a huge part of the DD Porter family since 2003. Starting his career as a quantity surveyor, he came to DD Porter as a QS manager before becoming Director.
A firm hand on the financial tiller of our projects, Darren manages the QS team and ensures all projects are financially viable and have the equipment and materials needed for success.
“The successful operation of DD Porter is down to the strength and depth we have in our team. We’re all committed to doing everything necessary to make our client’s projects a success and that’s reflected by the fact the majority of our work is repeat business.”
