DD Porter’s very own Richard Potts (pictured) was part of a team of dedicated fundraisers who successfully completed an extraordinary four-day trek through the Sahara Desert in support of DD Porter’s main charity focus, Overgate Hospice.
The challenge took participants across the ever-changing desert landscape, culminating in a climb to the summit of the vast Chegaga Dunes, where they were rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise. Despite the intense heat and physical demands of the trek, the team remained focused on their goal of raising vital funds for Overgate Hospice.
Overgate Hospice provides specialist care and loving support to people with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families, carers and loved ones. Its expert team offers palliative care, advice and emotional support, helping patients maintain their independence and dignity at the end of their lives.

The funds raised through the Sahara trek will help ensure that Overgate Hospice’s nurses, doctors and support staff can continue to be there for local people when they need it most. As demand for hospice care continues to grow, support from the community remains essential.
A huge well done to Richard and the rest of the Sahara Trek Team.
